Service Guide

Why this Service Guide?
In this Service Guide, we provide a brief overview of the key information about our company and the services we offer. Who we are, how you can contact us, and details of our services and fees. You can also download our Service Guide here.

Who are we?
Meijers Credit specializes in creditinsurance and other financial services. Our company’s activities are governed by the Financial Supervision Act (Wft). We hold a license from the Netherlands Authority for the Financial Markets (AFM) with number 12011032. You can find this on www.afm.nl.

Our role is to work with you to identify the risks you face. We will then discuss with you which risks need to be insured. In doing so, we provide advice on which products we believe best suit your needs and circumstances. In addition to this advice, we also facilitate communication between you and the insurance companies with which you take out your policies.

Our firm was established in 2008 and operates in the Netherlands and abroad through our colleagues in the Worldwide Broker Network (WBN); website: www.wbnglobal.com.

We aim to be easily accessible to our clients. We are open on working days during standard office hours and outside these hours via the mobile phones of our account managers. Outside office hours, you will be put through to SOS International, who can assist you with the most common enquiries.

What can we do for you?

  • We review your current insurance package and provide you with insurance advice and an explanation;
  • We advise you on finding and taking out the insurance policies and financial products you require;
  • We check the policy terms and the premium charged to you by insurers;
  • During the term of the insurance, you can receive explanations and notify us of any changes to the financial products taken out through our agency, and
  • Should you suffer a loss, you can receive advice on how to proceed and we will support you in settling the claim.

    We hold professional indemnity insurance. Within the limits of the policy, this insurance provides cover for claims relating to professional negligence. This offers you additional peace of mind.

Which insurers do we involve in our advice?
There are more than 400 financial institutions in the Netherlands. Drawing on our professional expertise, we have made a selection from among them. We examine the products offered by these companies to find the one that best suits your specific needs.

Independence of advice
It is important for you to know that we have no contractual obligations to any financial institution to specifically include that institution’s products in our advice.

Trade name
Meijers Credit is part of Meijers Assurantiën B.V. and operates under the name Meijers Credit.

How are we remunerated?
We receive a fee from the financial institution with which your contract is concluded; this fee forms part of the premium charged to you. If any additional services are provided to you for which you are charged directly, we will inform you in advance.

What do we expect from you?
We expect you to provide accurate details, including information regarding any other insurance policies you hold. This is in your own best interests. Should it subsequently transpire, in the event of a claim, that you have provided incorrect or incomplete information, you may, for example, be under- or over-insured, or the insurer may be entitled, under the terms and conditions of the policy, not to pay compensation for the loss, or not to pay it in full.

We also expect you to notify us or the insurer of any changes to your personal circumstances or insured property; we also expect you to check the documents you receive. Errors or misunderstandings can creep into the communication process, particularly when changes are communicated by telephone, but also in other cases. If anything is unclear or has been incorrectly stated, please do give us a call. We will have this corrected if necessary. Finally, we expect you to ensure that premiums are paid on time.

Terminating the relationship
You have the right to terminate your relationship with our firm at any time. You may request the relevant insurance company to transfer your current insurance policies to an adviser of your choice. We may also take the initiative to terminate our relationship with you. This does not affect the continuation of existing insurance contracts.

Complaints?
If you have a complaint about the handling of a matter, our working methods in general, or insufficient information regarding the nature of our services, please inform us as soon as possible. We will contact you promptly upon receipt of your complaint. All complaints are dealt with by the management. Our services are governed by Dutch law.
